About Dorothy Dale

Raised on a farm in southwest Michigan (no electricity, running water, or indoor bathroom). First person in my family to go to college. Graduated cum laude from Hope College in Holland, MI, in 1958. Taught school for 4 years, raised a family, worked in various office positions at several companies and for Kalamazoo Public schools. Started writing poetry very young. Moved to Tennessee in 1989 after the death of my husband. Eventually remarried. Now spend my time writing, teaching water aerobics, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and making crafts to sell at various craft shows. Most of my writing is an account of dealing with life experiences and my observation of them or the inspiration of a turn of phrase from a conversation or a sermon.
