The Island - Part 4

Rated 4.89/5 based on 9 reviews
Stranded on Portsmouth Island, William Hill struggled to survive. The news brought stories of storms and riots, of people starving while the government promised food.

William figured he had enough to worry about.

Then he found the message. Not even a fool could mistake the intent, not when the evil knew his name and watched from shadows.

About Michael R Stark

Trying to figure out when I started writing is like trying to decide when I started walking. The stories have always been there, rummaging around in my mind. Some went on paper. Most didn’t. I wrote my first novel when I was 22. Thankfully, I left it to the dustbin of history where it shall always remain.

Imagine the grin, yes, it was that bad.

As for influences on my latest story, The Island, that one has been up there banging away in my head for a long time. Parts of it were told at bedtime. Though honestly, those who heard the parts wouldn't recognize them in the story. By the time we get to the second book in this series, they will find some recognizable moments. They'll also probably be upset that the adventure turned into something of a horror story.

Ahh, well, most of them are old enough now to read it for what it is.

I grew up in North Carolina, which is why part of the story is set there. I’ve been to exotic parts of the world, many countries, and most states. None of them I know as well as the one I called home for most of my life. It makes it easy to write about it, and the people in it.

I hope you enjoy the stories.

There are certain books that I like to have in a paper format so I can display them on my bookshelf and read again, this is one of them. I like the writing style in which you can see what's going on and feel like you're with the group and William, although sometimes you're not going to want to be with William. At times there is a creepfest factor going on and you don't know what hit you, The installments as a whole is a new favorite of mine. Looking forward to #5 and series #2 The Rock.

The 99 cents is killing me. Just kidding. Raise your price ... you're worth it.

Hello and good evening Mr Stark, I would just like to thank you for putting your ideas and visions into words. I am a very avid reader with no particular favourite or preference regarding writer or genre. Obviously I just like something that holds my attention, and you certainly did with Island. The book cover attracted me to your work and I am happy it did. I have read all 3 of the Island series for free (of course). However after enjoying your very descriptive and well paced story I did purchase 4 and final. I am on a disability pension here in Canada and believe me 757$ does not go far in a month. If I could afford to I would have made a larger donation but it is not possible at this time. Once again Thank You so much for sharing your talent and hard work. I am also hoping you are richly rewarded for all your time and trouble to entertain people through your writing. Cordially Sharon Anne Buetow, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
