Wedding Music

There are nine very special notes, in the traditional wedding march written by Felix Mendelssohn. These nine notes are played with strong crescendo and emphasis. Immediately following these nine notes, there is a pause. The congregation stands to honor and to give complete attention to the entrance of the bride as she comes to meet her groom. Two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ promised He would one day return for His Bride.

In Jerusalem today, the bride-to-be sleeps with her wedding dress beside her. The father of the groom oversees the preparations of the bridal chamber. When the bridal chamber is ready, the father of the groom instructs his son that it is time to go get his bride. The joyful wedding party goes through the streets of Jerusalem, usually around midnight, to the home of the bride's parents. The bride hears the sound of the wedding party and dresses. The bride and groom accompany the wedding party to the location of the bridal chamber. The bride and groom go in together to consummate the marriage. There is a shout when the marriage is consummated. There will soon be a midnight shout...and you and I will be there to hear it.
