About Hugh Brown

What can I say, I am a regular Jamaican residing in Kingston. I grew up in a relatively large family (4 brothers 1 sister). I now have a family of my own and find myself doing a lot of writing in my spare time, much like I used to when I was growing up. When I was growing up I used to read anything I could get my hands on, it didn't matter the genre. I think this impacted on me because I get all sorts of ideas when writing and come up with stories that fit into different genres. Look out for them.

Loved it. There is always something happening so each chapter is like a funny short story. Loved the characters. This book should be longer.

Good book. Great to see work like this from a Jamaican author. I found myself actually laughing out loud quite a few times. Looking forward to Mr. Browns next release.

Once I started reading this book, it never left my hand until I finished the last chapter. The writing style is not the best but the story was creative and very funny. Loved it.

I loved the humour. The characters seemed real enough for me think that this was not fictional but just someone telling me about actual events from their past. Great read.

This takes me back to my childhood days. Mr. Brown is great at giving us a child's perspective on life. The book just moves from one funny episode right into another. Entertaining from beginning to end. Brilliant writing. GO JAMAICA!!

This book is a good light read, very funny. Everyone who reads this book will certainly enjoy it. The only thing about it that threw me off at first was the old fashioned writing style, not one that I would expect from a Jamaican author, but that certainly didn't detract from the great storytelling. Very good book. Loved the illustrations as well.

This a wonderfully written, light-hearted, funny book. Its realistic characters and comical tales will be an instant hit with both the children and parents, with something (or someone) in it that everyone could identify with!

Guaranteed to put a smile on your face as it takes you deep into the world of Lu and his friends. It leaves you wanting more as each chapter ends and certainly wanting a sequel when you reach the ending.

The obviously talented Mr Brown (author) knows how to enter a child’s world where mischief and fun are part of everyday life!
