Ozone depletion has made the sun deadly. Society has changed to adapt to the danger, living nocturnally. Amanda is a teenage girl dealing with life on this scorched world. She will soon be evacuated from her home and transported to a new country, where the days will be shorter. She's plagued by the horrid possibility that the only man she's ever loved will not be able to go with her.

Alyssa Cooper was born in Belleville Ontario, and has lived in Canada for her entire life. After spending two years studying Fine Arts at York University, she left Toronto to pursue an education in Graphic Design. I enjoyed this story very much. I could really "feel" for Amanda. I began reading it one night shortly before bed and couldn't put it down. I was sorry when it ended! Would recommend to a teenager or an adult. 4 stars
