I read this after reading Ms. Short’s ‘Please Do Feed The Animals Zoo’.
Again, the tale was nicely set up but this time the protagonist is the far less likeable Arrogant Man of the title. Despite the unpleasant nature of the main character, you still find yourself on his side after he ends up at the mercy of a most unpleasant all female family.
Knowing that the Arrogant Man is due some comeuppance doesn’t make his ordeal any less excruciating. You find yourself putting on his shoes and thinking what you could possibly do to turn the tables. The tension build with every page you turn as you wonder what could possibly happen next and whether escape is just around the corner.
If you liked ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ then you’ll enjoy this.
