It is said that one night they set up camp in the mountains after a stage coach robbery and as they were counting the stolen money around the campfire they were ambushed by another gang of outlaws known as the Smith and Wesson brothers. Legend has it that there was once a person named Drac Von Stoller who churned out extremely short horror stories with the rapidity of a production line. It is said that Von Stoller didn't have much talent, but even worse, he didn't have the patience to try and learn his craft or improve his technique. Consequently, his stories would contain punctuation, spelling and grammatical errors, description that was both bland and awkward, and dialogue that was totally unnatural.
One day Von Stoller said "I've got an idea for a story, it is a story about a man who gets killed and comes back as a ghost to take revenge on his killer, this time I'll make him a cowboy in the Wild West, and to make his ghost interesting and to give the story a catchy title, I'll have the cowboy have his head cut off for no reason so that he comes back as a headless ghost."
As Von Stoller possessed no real imagination, the story was just a re-dressing of most of the other stories he had already written, and he described the Wild West using tired old cliches like poker, whisky, saloon, stagecoach etc, and even used the surname Clanton from real-life history without bothering to research its context.
But what Von Stoller didn't know that there was once another writer who had committed suicide after receiving a bad review, and his ghost now lurks on the internet and critiques bad writers. The moral of this story is that all writers should try and be professional about their work, take the time to learn the craft of writing and strive to improve, and to make their stories as perfect as possible before publishing them, otherwise the ghost reviewer might give them a bad score!
