About Gene Denham

I started writing as a kid. In school I won a few contests with my short stories and one with my poem "God and Mother Nature".

Since then I have had the poem "Lust" read on Houston Public Radio. Also, a religious magazine in Canada has published the poems "Testament" and "God and Mother Nature".

I am currently focusing on my prose.

You can contact me via my website.

Although a native Buckeye, I currently live in Houston with my wife and kids.

Review by: Amy Peters on April 7, 2013 :
A decent short of fiction with a 'pulp' style feel to it. I enjoyed its analysis of one of life's great losers and his thoughts and his own untimely demise just as there seemed to be light of hope at the end of the tunnel. It sort of reminded me of something from 'Jim Thompson' territory, and I feel that is why I enjoyed it so much.

I enjoyed this short work of fiction. It was sad, and very downhearted, however the irony at the end was appealing.
