About Lucinda Wingard

Lucinda Wingard’s first adventure away from home took place in Africa, in a small Muslim emirate of Nigeria, where she taught English to aspiring teachers. Suffice it to say, the teacher fresh from college learned more than she taught.
One novel in the literature curriculum was Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart. Lucinda was amazed that her students were unacquainted with the Ibo culture described in this book. The classroom held a mix of Christian and Muslim young men, and their lively discussion has continued to echo down the ensuing decades of her life.
After a career of teaching English language skills to students of all ages and nationalities, she is now applying those skills by writing stories that reach across cultures.
