A man in his twenties reads a self-help book for amusement. Later in his thirties he feels a compunction to read it again. And he goes on the journey of his life to learn its lessons. He would like to lose weight, to manage his computer better, and have friends and a girlfriend. If only he could succeed now before his life passes him by and he has nothing to show for it despite his big hopes.
Earnest Long, the author, has some experience or none of what he writes. His stories and books are in the best tradition of storytelling. He lives on his own and writes and when not writing watches the TV or chats to girls.
