Ok I read this book a few weeks ago and I most say that I loved that book so much that I wished the book was a lot longer then it was and the fact that the next book its out yet really sucks. but I know that once I get my hands on the other book I wont be able to put it down just like the past two books I have read already which I most say that if you want a break from the normal boring, I can anticipate whats going to happen next sequel then I suggest you read these books because it can only get better.

This book was great. Seeing how much Ash loved her from the begininng was a change of pace. I didn't catch on in the first book that Ash had been watching her for a year. I thought it was awesome either way! Great work and please hurry with the rest I want to read them. :)

So cool to read it from Ash's POV I loved it. Makes me really want In the Shadows, although I wish it had included when she reached out to him. That would have been sooo sweet. He really does love her. :)

As a huge fan of the "Mayne Attraction" series, I was thrilled to have a novella to dive into while I wait for the next full novel in the series. I wasn't disappointed. Ellery's personality shines through in a wonderful new light as you see faucets of her character that you didn't glimpse in the first book. Ash's point of view is a welcome change and you can't help but feel tugs on your heartstrings as you watch them interact for the first time. Loved the story. I totally recommend it.

The first book was fantastic; a great escape into the world of Ellery. She's adorable and needs to be with Ash. This glimpse into his mind just makes me want the second book to get here even faster!

I might have already submitted one but it won't show up so...:
Just like with the first book, I was hooked. Also like the first, I was terribly upset when I finished. Ann Mauren makes her readers want more and I can't wait! This was a great look into Ash's mind and his perspective of an event you see previously in her first book. I loved it and am so excited for the second one!

As with her first book, "In the Spotlight", Ann Mauren doesn't disappoint with this "teaser" for the third book. I know - THIRD. I can't wait for the second book and THEN the third. If you come across this short story before reading book 1, I highly advise you purchase book 1, "The Mayne Attraction: In the Spotlight" first. If you don't or didn't read this review until too late, go get the book. The characters will make more sense. Plus, if you are introduced to Ash Ryan this way you might think him a stalker. He isn't. I love seeing the unfolding of this story through his eyes. Take my word for it- go grab the first book, from Ellery's point of view, and start reading. Keep up the good work, Ann Mauren!

After reading this short, i can truly say i am waiting anxiously for the next two books especially In the Shadows. Ash is impossibly wonderful and perfect for Ellery. i was rooting for him in the first book when Ellie had the difficult choice of Gray and Ash. I wondered when Ash fell for her and how long he had to wait to find out her feelings were mutual. I am so happy for both of them and I hope this series expands beyond the trilogy (hint hint Ann). I could see this book becoming the next huge book-to-film phenom!

Truly amazing. It was far beyond what I had in mind. This short story was exactly what was needed to understand Ash. He was quiet and mysterious before but now I see that he is funny and very worthy of Ellery. He is the type of guy any girl would want. This story is the most captivating one I've read.

While reading this excerpt, I caught myself smiling as I read the thoughts of Ash Ryan. The way he feels about Ellery is adorable and when I remember her feelings from "In the Spotlight" I get excited knowing that his feelings are reciprocated. I cannot wait to read the rest of "In the Shadows"!

Feel good author, Ann Mauren, spins a different take on the events from her debut novel, In the Spotlight, by telling scenes from Ash’s point of view. (Ash is a central love interest for Ellery Mayne’s in the “Mayne Attraction” series). Mauren’s ability to see the story through the eyes of another character, while retaining the integrity of the original events, yet create and entirely fresh and engaging tale is nothing less than masterful. What I find particularly endearing about Mauren’s writing is that with every word she writes, every character she breathes life into, every scene she reveals, there’s a sense of wonder and innocence, mixed up with originality and quirkiness that hits the core of my happy center like no other writer I’ve ever encountered. Mauren’s books are like indulging in a decedent three layer chocolate fudge cake—every forkful rewards your senses with richly sweet goodness that keeps you satisfied for days.

What a downright fun introduction to the world of author Ann Mauren!

It's just a glimpse, mind you, but the prose here is so inviting and tight, that a glimpse is all you need. I'm looking forward to the entire novel from which this is excerpted! Thanks for sharing, Ann.

Having read Spotlight, I'm quite certain there is a lot more to Ellery Mayne then her own perspective would lead us to believe. I cannot wait to read In the Shadows.
