About Ella Jo Street

I wanted to write stories that I would have enjoyed reading as a child so invented Gwubbins the Witch, the Pirate Children and the Wonky Wizard! Mary Lou Springstead supplied superb cover illustrations and I was able to complete a five story project. Three of the stories have been made into audio books (so far) and contain soundtracks and music. A gallery has been set up on line for children to send in their pictures relating to the Gwubbins stories. More details about the Gwubbins project can be found on my very own Gwubbins website.

About Ella Jo
As a young woman I benefited from travelling to India, where I took meditation classes in Bodgaya and singing lessons in Varanasi. On my journeys I did many, many tarot readings and published an article called 'The Origins of Tarot' (Femspec Magazine, 2007). This was written after research undertaken in Bengal and is now published in my book 'Does Tarot Come From India?' Travelling in Turkey allowed me to discover clues for the origins and development of Tarot and I later wrote 'Journey Of A Tarot Reader'.

I have written other books that study tarot including in-depth analysis about The Magician, The High Priestess, The Empress and The Emperor. If you are a publisher interested in this work, please contact me.

My music projects culminated in four albums : ‘Limits Of Milkweed’,‘Alter Ego’, 'Attitude is Everything' and 'Almost Anglo Saxon' and I found songwriting a great medium for poetry and music.

In 2016 I decided to try my hand at writing a novel and achieved this mammoth task in March 2018. Touched By A Presence is my first book for grown ups. It is a fiction based around facts, involving people who really lived. Essentially it is a ghost story, for those we choose to remember make an imprint on our definitions of the past and sail through time to accompany us in the present. In the end I think I haunted my characters and they definitely haunted me. The story is not finished and I will be working on part 2 in the near future.
