About Trevor Steele

I am an Australian but have spent a quarter of my life overseas, mainly as a teacher of languages (Esperanto, English, German), but also as a social worker and a volunteer for one and a half years at an Esperanto community in central Brazil that takes care of orphans. I have first-hand experience of life in all continents except Africa.
In 1993 I walked on foot from Brisbane to Darwin. That was followed by one and a half years as an educational adviser working among Aborigines in the huge reservation of Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. Hence I have first-hand experience of what life is like for the contemporary black people of this country.
I have had a dozen works (mainly novels) published in the international language Esperanto. That can be checked by googling my name. I think it is not immodest to say that I am widely regarded as one of the best prose writers in the language. There are many pages devoted to my books in Geoffrey Sutton, Concise Encyclopedia of the Original Literature of Esperanto (Mondial, New York, 2008).
My first novel in English, Reluctant Messiah, was published by Mondial Press in New York in 2010.
