About Stacey Joy Netzel

I fell in love with books at a young age, and growing up, whenever Dad realized I’d disappeared when I was supposed to be working, he usually found me hiding out somewhere with a book. Writing evolved from reading, and the first story I ever finished was in high school, about my celebrity crush. I got an A on that creative writing ‘assignment,’ though I’m not sure my teacher ever read all 187 pages. I started writing again in my mid-twenties, and no matter the journey my characters take, the end result is always the same—Happily Ever After.

After years of being a travel agent while writing on the side, I am now able to live my dream of being a full time writer. I’m still an avid reader, and also a fan of movies with that HEA. I live in my native Wisconsin with my husband and kids, and in my free time, I enjoy gardening, canning, and visiting my parents in Northeastern Wisconsin (Up North) at the family cabin on the lake.

Reviews of Rising Above (Still Waters Part Two) by Stacey Joy Netzel

Rhonda Hopkins reviewed on Nov. 8, 2012

Full disclosure: I have a short story in TALES FROM THE MIST where Stacey Joy Netzel's Beneath Still Waters (book one) is published. While I think all the stories are great, BSW was my favorite in the anthology. And RISING ABOVE is just as good. It's well written, no problems with editing or formatting. RA is a fast-paced, suspenseful, paranormal novella. Even the secondary characters are well developed. Ms. Netzel's writing makes you feel the relationship between Ryan and Ali spanning the ages and their past lives. The tension is enough to keep you on the edge of your seat and turning the pages. It's a satisfying read and I highly recommend it.
