Wow. This was not a "kid's" reference to me. I'm more than full grown and I didn't know 1/4 of the information presented! So handy to have around and I learned a ton! It's a keeper.

My mom got me this book because i like to bake. It has alot of information in it that will help me whn I bake. I like to make my own recipes but sometimes they don’t end up looking much like a cake. I have already founjd out from this book some of the reasons why. I hope he writes one about cookies too.

Alan has written a clear, easy to understand and informative book. I am impressed by this book and learned a lot from it. I will use it when cooking - especially when I am out of certain ingredients.

This is a very good book and a welcome addition to my cookbook library. The author has researched well and has carefully chosen the kinds of information that will be helpful to both seasoned and aspiring bakers and cooks.

I really liked the cover as well and am disappointed that the picture didn't print. When I printed the book, the picture was omitted and the Table of Contents and Introduction appeared on the cover instead. I am sure this was not the author's intention as he paid meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of the book.
