This collection contains the following stories:
1. Ereolon’s Day of Demons
2. Prince of Runeguard
3. Sceptre of Tanara
4. The Enemy Crown
5. Colour of Silence
6. Ryokin Master
I really wasn't quite sure what to expect when I agreed to read this ARC. What I received were six very short, quick reads that quite literally contained sorcery and subterfuge just like the title suggested. Each has a short, quick read. Truthfully I felt like I came in the middle of some of these and then they ended so quickly, I was trying to catch up with myself. Each was well written but there just wasn't enough substance there for me. Perhaps it's just me and someone else will enjoy them more. I'm giving it a three-star for what was there, I just wish there was more to each one.

It's been a long time since I've read stories about magicians, elves and dwarves.

These tales are simple to read and engaging.

I felt the first two stories were excerpts from a novel as they seemed to finish rather suddenly, as though cut off. Where as with my favourite Sceptre of Tanara, I was satisfied with the ending.
A good anthology of short stories relating to magic, elves and mythical creatures.
