Once I started this book I was hooked. Kathleen did a great job drawing in the reader’s attention. I’ve read Christian books before, but nothing like this. I would categorize this book under Christian Military Mystery and suspense. I love how the author had the characters recite bible verses, I thought that was amazing. This book was packed with action and faith.
Megan was a marine that was visiting her husband at work when an explosion happen. Megan was capture, and her husband was trying to find her. She had endure some torture and her husband had to witness it through live feed. This book showed how faith and prayer help Jerimiah (Megan’s husband) and her family stay positive through this horrible time. Oh and the twist, turns and suspense was a plus. You would never predict how this book would go, I love how unpredictable this book was. This is book one in the series and I am happy to start book 2.
Kathleen is a brilliant author and I love this series. I would highly recommend this book to those who love action, suspense and even Christian books. Thank you for writing a book, it showed me to never give up faith, especially during a time where you need God the most.

This is my first Christian fiction book and I must say, it got me hooked from the beginning! I just COULD NOT stop reading! I just about cried the entire time I read this book, both from sadness and joy. One thing I really noticed is the way the author uses God and when I imagine her fictional characters praying, I want to join them! This is such a fantastic book! Who knew a Christian book could have such violence and realism to today's society? There were a couple of times where I wasn't sure if I would have written in a few things, but then again, I am not a writer. And you know what? Even if I was I would still give this book 5 stars! IT IS AMAZING! I too, am married to a Marine, and although it may appear to be a book more appealing to that of a female audience, I am sure if men were to read this book, they could also come to enjoy it, with the intense tension and excitement that goes on! Wonderful book!!!!

Quick read. Exciting. Many twists and turns I did not see coming. Left me wanting to see what will happen with several of the characters after the events of this book finished! If you love Marine Corps, or spies, or Christian fiction, you will love this book. I think we will be hearing more from this new author in the future.

I enjoyed this book a lot!! It had you turning the page quickly to see what was going to happen next. Lots of twists and turns and a couple of gasps as well.
There are some parts of the story that are hard to read, kidnapping, rape, torture, and "revenge" and the inside world of the CIA, marriage, religion, and the Marine Corps.
For me, this book should be classified as a christian fiction/thriller. I understood the author's message in regards to Faith and God, but did feel there were parts of that message that really didn't "fit" into the story and/or were left incomplete. The story line between James and Alison for me was an example of that. Personally, I would have preferred a little less of the religious aspect in respect to her storyline, BUT still enjoyed her message and this book. I would definitely recommend it.
