About Réal Laplaine

My name is Réal Laplaine. I'm Canadian born and raised. I worked much of my career in Los Angeles before relocating to Sweden where I continue writing and other aspects of my career. I pen high-concept thrillers. Some of my books are pure crime thrillers, some have an existential weave to them, while others have a thread of "science fiction", but as we all know, "sci-fi" is just a blueprint of tomorrow's reality. My goal as a writer is to spin great stories to entertain readers and which invite them to challenge mediocrity, the very paradigms of our culture, so that we can raise our collective consciousness away from wars, racism and hate, and build a future that will inspire humanity to reach the stars. On this site you'll find my unique Canadian crime series, The Keeno Crime Thrillers; or the ever popular Finding Agnetha - an inspiring story about ABBA. Dead but not Gone is a paranormal thriller about Marilyn Monroe's return 50 years after her death and she has a story to tell the world about how she really died. The Buffalo Kid, a thriller with a twist - you'll never look at a homeless person the same way after this book. You'll also find Twilight Visitor and Earth Escape, two high concept thrillers, and Deception People, the first book in the Out-Step series, a novel that will challenge you to question the truth behind global events, such as 9/11.
