Can you really truly write an account of a abused person if you have never walked in their shoes?. Dead Eyes was a very difficult book to read one that made me feel angry and at times dug up the depths of the most horrid memories being a abuse victim myself. It is cold and gnaws at the very bone of society flagging a very issue we often fondly sweep under the carpet. We dont want to look reality in the eye let alone crawl to the other side and experience what can happen. The way music can have a impact on the real events of our life and deliver a strong message. This book isnt for light reading at times its disturbing and i can be a very harsh critique but Scott captured a side to society from a disturbing picture and was able to write a fictional story which will leave every reader in awe to read more work by him. If you never 'get it' you will from this book.
