New Release: Of the Cowboy's Own Accord Book #3 in the Double Dutch Ranch Series. Available Now.
Other writers have always been my inspiration. Many romance and women's fiction authors inspire me to keep my eyes on my goal.
My writing consists of sensual contemporary western romance with strong family ties, an occasional paranormal romance, and upcoming romantic fiction outside of the western genre. In my more dramatic reads, the characters don't always have an easy time getting what they want, but their reward is sexy and sweet.
In the Double Dutch Ranch Series Books, you'll find Cowboy Boss and his Destiny to be the lightest storyline of all Mary's books--sensual and romantic--a lighter side to romance.
Books #1.5, #2, and #3 have a more emotional and compelling storyline. If you're looking for a little more punch than Cowboy Boss and his Destiny, begin with Tristan's Destiny #1.5 or Heartbreak's Reward, Bk #2. Book 1.5 contains spoilers for Cowboy Boss.

“Howdy Ma’am” was in the stack of books that await my attention for a while. I’m glad I finally read this story.
Mary J. added the real world to her romantic fiction with the trickiest of all subjects – abuse. It’s a subject that even in this century many people just can’t handle. I commend the author for tackling it – for showing that part of the heroine’s past, but letting her grow and move forward with her future.
The style and structure of the story appeal to me. I’m sure this heroine is going to rescue herself, and I like that. I’m looking forward to the rest of this wild ride, the sassy heroine, and especially… that cowboy!

I only got a few pages in so I can't give a review of how well the plot developed or if the story was emotionally satisfying. I can only say that the writing style was not for me. I'm sure others will enjoy it. That's why we have so many flavors of ice cream.
