About W. Blake Heitzman

Blake grew up just south of Las Cruces, New Mexico, where he spent his spare time exploring the desert in his World War Two surplus jeep. Sometimes he listened to old timers’ tales of Geronimo, Pancho Villa, and Billy the Kid.
Today he weaves his love and respect for the desert along with bits of what he’s heard and seen into his stories.
A retired Professional Engineer in the State of California with Masters Degrees in Energy Conversion and Urban Planning as well as experience as a college math instructor, Blake's interests range from science and history to aliens and the Kaballah.
Heitzman is influenced by his favorite writers: Stephen King, H.G. Wells, Bradbury, Vonnegut, Michael Crichton and Tony Hillerman.
He is currently writing The Shaman Gene series, the story of Earth’s rise to join galactic society. "The Robot's Daughter", is the second in the series, although it has been designed to be read as a stand alone novel as well. Two more novels: Seekers of the Scroll and The Forceps of Sharon are in draft.

Loved this book...and I'm not even particularly a SciFi person. However, A Far Traveler tied together present day characters with the aliens and ancients and kept my interest and curiosity the whole read. Not only that, but it gave me some food for thought. I highly recommend it. Enjoy!

How would like a mix of ancient Egyptian, modern adventure and science fiction? If so A Far Traveler – The First Alien by W. Blake Heitzman is the novel for you. This fast paced, high action adventure will keep you on the edge of your reading seat from start to finish.

The storyline is well developed and thought-out. It is easy to follow even with the many twist and turns it takes. Add to this jumping back and forth over 3,000 years and you stay on your toes. But, like I said it is easy to follow.

W. Blake Heitzman did a great job developing each of the characters in the story. They were both believable and easy to identify with. I found myself following along the story and characters as an unseen member of the cast and cheering everybody on.

I really enjoyed and got into reading A Far Traveler by W. Blake Heitzman and I highly recommend it to all readers.

Every science fiction fan who loves an intelligently crafted read will enjoy this novel. From the rattlesnake infested Nevada desert, where Matt Krause meets Stephanie, to a final brush with death in the village of Ab ib Hebrim, where the Grand Elders hold council to determine whether the fledgling shaman, Matt, has used his powers for good, or is a sorcerer who should be stoned, this page-turner will take you on a thrilling adventure to learn the truth about the earth's first alien. In the final scene of his book, Blake Heitzman parses out enough answers for a satisfying ending while leaving you with sufficient questions to make you wish him rocket-speed in delivering the next novel in the series.
