About Ella Dominguez

Silly, thoughtful, sympathetic, naughty, delusional, moody, loving, begrudging... that's me in a nutshell.

I'm a full-time mom, wifey, healthcare worker, and wanna be switch. I was born and raised in a sexually repressed, strict Christian household in the bible belt of the USA. This upbringing and repression contributed to my wicked imagination and writing has been my only outlet for my sexual fantasies. Finally at the ripe old age of 40, I've mustered up enough courage to share my naughty thoughts and put pen to paper. I sincerely hope to find my niche in writing erotica in all forms, be it romance or paranormal.

I don't consider myself an author. I consider myself an avid reader above all else, and someone who simply writes the stories that the voices in my head tell me to.

Where to begin with this one....The Art of Domination is definitely a little different from The Art of Submission. A few things I did not like...but all in all, I enjoyed this very much once I got past them. I try my hardest not to have spoilers in my reviews but unfortunately I'm going to have some, you've been warned.

*slight spoiler*
Dylan's proposal? Adorable. His bullying and being an ass to get her to agree to marry him? No words.

Dylan practically throws temper tantrums every time he wants Isa to do something. "So please, Isa, if you want me to be happy, then indulge me." WTF? What about Isa and the things she likes? Is she not allowed to have her limits? I understand he wants to push her limits and show his "true" Dom side but just going at it? Just like that? NO. That is not ok, and it really pissed me off. No safe words? Oh fuck no. No Dom would EVER do that. Talk with her explain a little what he wants to explore...instead he just went at it and left her scared out of her mind. And she was such a doormat that she just bit her lip and wanted to please him. I am not into S/M and I was very worried I would not be able to keep reading, but it took a turn when she was finally coming into her own and it turns out they are the perfect S/M couple, I'm still not into it, but it makes it 'ok' when both parties are.

Dear Lord do not get me started on Erika. I could not believe he would agree to meet with her on their wedding night! I was happy when Isa put her foot down about leaving him. Finally put his ass on track.

Dylan can be very immature, when he interrupted Erika and her Dom and the Dom called Dylan 'dude' "Dude? What kind of fucking Dom uses language like that? How old is he? 14?" Well isn't that the pot calling the kettle black. Dylan rolls his eyes and throws temper tantrums more than a 13 year old stubborn teenage girl!

*end spoil*

Now all of that being said, once Isa started coming into her own and they realized how well of a match they were it was a great, exciting read. The scene in the BDSM club with Erika? YES! Awesome. And the reaction? Hilarious.

How they couldn't see who the other woman was behind all that crap was baffling to me. I'm usually a ditz and can rarely figure out the "bad guy" when others are screaming it was too "predictable", so the fact that I was able to figure it out so quickly...

When Dylan got the new house because of that one comment from Isa? Loved him a little. Though if I were Isa I would have demanded that shit right away.

As a whole, I enjoyed this book, like I said once I got past the few things that bothered me and Isa and Dylan grew as a couple.

"I've created a monster," I tell her.
Yes, you have. Now feed the beast."

Definitely NOT Vanilla sex with a side of kinkiness! Move aside 50 Shades of Grey, this is the real thing and yes it is 50 Shades of DARK RED PAIN! LOL

This book is darker and grittier than the first book and yes this book comes with a warning!Thank God for the warning ;-)

This is erotica at its best and yes it is not "clean, straight up sex" it is the BDSM kind.
If you are into this genre, you will LOVE this book! I can't say I'm a fan of BDSM themes, but boy this book is very good and very hot!

Phew, HOT! My only criticism is that the book has too many sex scenes? I can't believe I just wrote that! How can a book have too many sex scenes? like really! LOL, It really isn't a criticism per say just a side note.

A very entertaining read, well done Ms Dominguez, well done!

I really enjoyed the continuation of Dylan and Isa! I enjoyed the alternating POV perspective, knowing what was going on in the minds of both characters. Can't wait for more!!

I loved this book! I really enjoyed the first one but removing the double POV made a big difference. We still hear from Isa and Dylan but it is not repetitive. Ella also stepped up the BDSM scenes. They were HOT, HOT, HOT and yummy. I know, nice details but really this book just puts it out there. The details are picture perfect.

We really get to know the characters in this book. Their past is coming back into their lives and this makes them realize how much they don't know each other. The real problem is the secrets that are being kept. This leads to the suspense throughout the book. You are captured by the story and waiting to see what will happen next.

As much as I enjoy when Isa releases her Domme and lets loose on Dylan, I was really enthralled when he showed his true nature. He has been holding back and this throws Isla. I"m not sure she realized what she was asking for when she told him she wanted the true him. Dylan is a hare-core sadist. The only difference between his relationship with Isla and his past is that he truly loves her. For this reason he doesn't engage in some of previous themes, however, their play becomes much darker and edgier. Isla is totally with him except for the secrets. The love they have for each other is put to the test and may not withstand Dylan's inability to share everything with her.

I highly recommend this book. With just 2 books into the series it is on my favorite's list. I highly anticipate book 3.

Excellent read!!! I think this has alot of similarities of FSOG but it does have its differences too. I liked the mystery aspect of it as well.
I hope that Dylan and Isa get there happy ending eventually.
Looking forward to more reads by this author.

What a vast improvement from the first version of "Submission!" Ella has captured the essence of her characters. She develops Dylan's extreme dominance showing us that he will accept nothing but complete acquiescence from Isa. We can visualize Isa's struggle to find her true nature while pleasing her man.

In the latter half of the book, I found myself swept into the mystery; the pacing in the suspense is spot on with excellent action scenes. I look forward to reading book #3 to find out the resolution to the intriguing cliff hanger.

Well done, Ella!

Once again I find myself conflicted here. I had originally given this 3 stars but after writing my review moved it up to 4. The story is fun and steamy, a continuation starting five months after the first. In the interim, Isa and Dylan have been getting to know each other and building their relationship. I loved the chemistry between them. Plus there was quite a bit of action (ha ha, besides just the hot sex) and suspense. I enjoyed having the different points of views, much better done in this book than the first. The technical issues with the first book (quotations, dialogue) were fixed in this one, as well, so that is a definite plus. This book delved much deeper into the world of BDSM as well.

My biggest issue with this book was Dylan himself. I absolutely loved Dylan in book 1. He was not perfect by any means, he made mistakes, but he was a great guy. In this book, he is too domineering, too controlling. He wants to control Isa 24/7, not allowing her a say in anything…which, if they were in a typical D/s relationship would not be such a big deal and actually I could have respected that. However, they are now married; she is his wife, not just his sub, and although he obviously cared for her, he had absolutely no respect for her. At times I even thought his behavior as borderline abusive rather than hot and sexy like it was supposed to be. Isa herself was a bit too wishy-washy, although she had that issue in the first book as well. She would start to stand up for herself but then back down with the promise of great sex (and it was great!). At times it almost seemed that she did not feel safe and was afraid of what her Dom was going to do. I would love to have seen her stick to one of her decisions…to make Dylan realize that her feelings are important too.

I did like that we got to see more into Dylan's past. Overall, I enjoyed the story and look forward to more.
