It is so easy for me to praise the offerings of this author. Ripples In An Emerald Sea is an immersion into a culture that is beautifully rendered and leaves me longing for more. I will not divulge this story to you, but I will state the obvious: Adam Mannan projected a splice of life into my head that I will never forget. There were times in my reading that I felt the gun in my hand and it rekindled thoughts of my days in war. The multifaceted world that has been built carefully here by this author, left this reader enthralled and along side the action.
I am at times a snob when reading about engagements in battle or encounters of hostility. I find myself disgusted by the garbage I pick up from other authors who just can't present the feelings of someone trained to fight. This book receives my veteran approval for its attention to detail.
I find myself wanting to read every book that the author will ever publish, and I indeed will.
Ultimately, this is a story that you need to discover for yourself and when you do, please let it take you away like it did me. Fantastic book. Do yourself a favor and don't wait to read this one. It's much too good to sit on the digital bookshelf or the one at the bookstore.

If you only read one science fiction novel this year this book should be the one. Deftly delivered the plot unfolds like the angelic wings of Asimov. New, bright and refreshing..., this novel is a breath of fresh air in the SF world. Fantastic!

I stopped reading Sci-Fi for a few years and I’m so glad that I got back into it with this book. In a line: good story line, great characters, awesome imagination, high quality writing, humour, action packed throughout. In more detail: the development of the main character and her duality Aerie (awesome name!) as the book progresses is very well done. I found the relationship between Lya and her duality intriguing and could not help but wonder until the end where this was leading to as Aerie’s ability increased. And, was Lya’s arm ever going to grow back at the end?! I applaud Lya’s ability to be a highly attractive, complete kick-ass action junkie whilst having just one arm! The book constantly bombards us with very interesting new technologies and I wish some really existed as described in the book (the neuralnet and femtobots being the most obvious). I liked the fact that the technologies also had limitations. The language is dense, but I found it easy to get into and I really enjoyed the author’s voice and writing skills. All the plot lines are tied up at the end. The pace really picks up and kept me glued to the book. Overall, I got into the book’s world and will definitely be keeping an eye for the next installment. Highly recommended.

Great Story. The book was hard to put down. The story is well written, the characters are believable and the story line is fantastic.

I cannot wait for more stories in the Blood, Fire, Ice, and Void setting. I read on the author's website, that he is working on another book.

I highly recommend this book to all readers.

Brilliant!! I've not done anything else from getting this. Could hardly put it down and didn't want it to end. Several plot twists caught me by surprise and the pace got faster and faster. I found the atmosphere to be amazing, the world and inventions are cool and believable. The writing style is very strong, and I fell in love with the main character, Lya, and especially liked how she was fleshed out and developed. Best of all it's so original, I can see it setting new standards for the genre and becoming a movie. Needs a better cover!!. When is the shadowlord out?
