A Lovely Failure

Rated 4.00/5 based on 1 reviews
Banned to a remote outlying planet thought devoid of anything useful, Charles finds it surprising comfortable and the people agreeable. They are as unmotivated to seek material success as he is. That Home World has basically written both he and the planet off as worthless makes life sweet. The unexpected arrival of a colleague who feels the need to redeem himself threatens everything.

About Tilly Jupiter

When she escaped to this space and time, Tilly Jupiter brought with her little more than a wicked sense of humor, a zest for life and a love of stories. The best stories, she thinks, are those that are true, or close enough to being true that with a little nudge from the universe you wouldn't know the difference. She offers a wink and a nod to those who know what really happened in those strange places in those strange times she writes about.

Now she resides in a secret bunker, where she turns her attention to matters of great importance, none of which have anything to do with what passes for current events. At least not in any traceable, tangible way.

Review by: Kathleen Gonsauls on Aug. 27, 2013 :
A Lovely Failure by Tilly Jupiter was an interesting and humorous science fiction that was an excellent subject for the ‘quick summer read.’ I am not the type to read anything ‘beyond this world’ but I was pleasantly surprised by this book. (I am looking forward to reading Jupiter’s other novel, The Ailen Fast-Food Wars.) To be honest, I found some of the content difficult to understand. But, for such a short novel, there is a lot of ground to cover in a short amount of time. I trudged through the beginning a few times to soak it in. Afterwards, it was smooth sailing. The characters are complex and their personalities are addicting. Denrie, the society that they live in, is unique – It’s a society you haven’t read about in any other book. It is obvious how much time, effort, and tender loving care the author put in to this book – very well executed.

If you’re looking for a quick and quirky read, I would suggest this book. Once you start this book, you won’t put it down until you’re done!
