I liked this short story. I could feel the atmosphere within the Victorian waiting room. This is a well written story, an easy read with interesting characters. The romance is not that central to the story, it hinges upon the Guard's ability to cheer the young woman up. The twist in the end is interesting - a double twist actually. Nicely done and simple in its construction. Well worth the read.

This is a good, solidly written short story. The atmosphere of the train station on a rainy day, its age, the women's waiting room, are vivid. I wish there had been a little more to the romance, though, to give more emotional weight to the heroine's heartbreak. No typos found - thank you for editing! I wish more authors did!
