About KJ Blackwood

I went a bit mad one day and walked out of my office, bought a t-shirt and chinos as I walked to the bus stop and shed my work clothes as I made my way to the airport, where I got on a flight to Thailand using a rather dodgy plane ticket.

That's when I started to write and my first collection of short stories was influenced by the dark place my mind was in.

I got a free copy from the author a couple of weeks ago and only just got around to finishing it. Really impressed. These seven stories are really dark and creepy, each with a twist that you wouldn't guess, however hard you try (unless you're cleverer than me!). Really well-written too. The only negative is that there are only seven stories - wish there were more.

KJ Blackwood is, it would appear, a new author but has produced a cracking book of seven shorts stories. Each quite different and definitely dark. Not for the faint hearted... Enjoyable may seem the wrong word given what happens to many of the characters ... But reading each story was indeed an enjoyable experience. Excellently written, with good descriptions of the people and settings, each tale is served up with an unexpected ending.
