Jessica and Connor !! Two people hurt in the past and now scared to have relationships, both bullied and hurt in different ways. Jessica not knowing how to have a relationship and Connor concerned with how his past would affect his future. The sexual tension from this couple is evident throughout the book , the story keeps you guessing will they or won't they ,many twists and turns, spooky findings and an abusive ex all makes for a great read,, kept me turning the pages !! :)

Started well then seemed to bog down a little. A good story just needed a little more depth to characters. Not really my cup of tea as I do enjoy shapeshifter romances best. :)

I'm the type of reader who enjoys losing herself in a novel, from beginning to end. Chef's Delight is one of those easy on the mind novels that allowed me to do that. The characters are believable, the setting realistic, and the story quite true to real life - except perhaps for the exorcism.

Jessie and Connor, the protagonists, live in a small town in texas. She raises goats and makes cheeses. He owns a restaurant and needs top quality produce, so naturally the two meet. Unfortunately, the first three times they meet don't look good for their relationship.

First, he helps her out with an ex in a bar. Then, she fires a rifle over his head. Her apology leads to him knocking her over in his restaurant and telling her never to cross the hearth again.

Happily, primal attraction wins out, and they are soon in each others arms, if not in each others beds. This is a sweet yet gritty tale of love, and well worth reading.

Connor Wright is trying to run and operate is newly established restaurant in Serendipity, Texas. However things hit a rough patch when his cheese suppler doesn’t deliver. In need of a new suppler his co-worker suggests her best friend Jessica Stillwell. Right from the start the sexual attraction between them is strong.

Nevertheless, Connor’s past is one thing that keeps him from moving too fast with Jessie. Connor isn’t the only one with a past; Jessie has her own issues to work out. One of her major problems is her ex-boyfriend, Chad, who has started stalking her. Just when things couldn’t get even more complicated Connor’s restaurant turns out to be truly haunted and this ghost has decided that he is her new lover and will do anything to keep Jessie and Connor apart. Can Connor and Jessie overcome their pasts and the ghost haunting them?

The only thing that I didn’t really like about this book was that I was expecting was a little more conflict between Connor’s ex-wife and Jessie. There was a buildup throughout the book on how much trouble she has been in the past and how she was constantly ruining Connors life. When all was said and done all that happened was a phone call.

Overall I enjoyed this book. I thought the concept and the characters were good. I found myself wondering what could possibly happen next that will keep these two characters from being together. This was a fast read and was able to finish it in one day. If you are looking for some romance and a little ghost action you should give this one a try. I do look forward to reading more from Anne Conley.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

From the moment Connor sees Jessie, he is smitten. He finds her beauty alluring, but as his luck would have it, he approaches her at a bad time, making Jessie's first impression of him not a positive one (this comes to bite both of them in the ass later and it was entertaining). In fact, he approaches her after she had just been accosted at a local bar by her fist-happy ex-boyfriend and she was in a foul mood.

Jessie is an entrepreneur raising goats for milk which she makes cheese from and maintaining a garden and orchard. She sells her fruit, vegetables, cheese, and herbs for profit using the minute sum to make a living and upkeep her ranch. She doesn't have the best track record with men and although she tries at first to keep things "professional" with Connor, she can't help notice how attractive he and his backside is.

Connor is also a small business owner. Having moved to the small town of Serendipity to start a new life away from crazy (his ex-wife), he dumps his entire savings into a restaurant, however he is hitting obstacle after obstacle in his attempt to get it running. One obstacle leading him straight into the beauty who gave him the cold shoulder a day prior.

I was rooting for these two to get together even though I knew it was inevitable. The chemistry was there, but also the hint of compatibility between the two. Conley does a great job of creating real people, showing their flaws and their strengths while still making them appealing to the reader. This was a short and sweet read with not only a great pair of H/h; a nice collection of supporting cast members in the form of Summer and Kathy, Jessie's girlfriends and Luke, Connor's brother; but also a ghost with a crush! The story flowed really well and as a new writer, Conley does a really good job with the pace of the novel; not writing too much where the reader might start skimming the pages and not leaving things out, fearful of bombarding the reader with inconsequential details.

I look forward to more novels from Conley.

Book exchanged for an honest review~

Jessica (Jessie) Stillwell hasn't had much luck with men in her life. Her ex Chad has beaten her up all in the name of love. She runs Stillwell Dairy Farm which has goats, orchards, and a greenhouse with vegetables that she hopes to sell in the local town of Serendipity, Texas. Jessie usual mode of operation with guy's is meet them, have sex, and leave but she's wondering if this style is really working for her. Connor Wright moved from Houston, Texas to Serendipity for a fresh start away from his psycho ex-wife Brandy because she could leave him alone to have a life of his own. Connor and Brandy share a child named Maddie but Connor isn't allowed to see her because of Brandy's machination. Connor has put all of his money into getting his restaurant Estelle's off the ground but he's having nothing but problems at the moment. Connor's brother Luke is a contractor and helping him out where he can. One of Connor's supplier's flakes out on him and he needs a new supplier fast when Kathy suggests he try Stillwell Dairy Farm. Needless to say things don't go as Connor planned when meeting Jessie for the first time but the spark between them is undeniable. Jessie is mortified about her behavior towards Connor and gives him some of her products to Connor as an apology. The other problem Connor is having is strange things happening like music that's not there and a silver mirror showing up where it's not wanted. Will Connor forgive Jessie? Will Connor admit his attraction to Jessie? Will Chad realize he's not wanted? Will Jessie get the business she's hoping for? Your answers await you in Chef's Delight.

Chef's Delight was a true joy to read for a new to me author. I loved all of the characters for their flaws, quirks, and special something ~ a page turner. I loved the story and how it was crafted. I especially loved the unique twists provided by the author. I will definitely be looking forward to my next story by this author. Until next time happy reading!
