I think of myself as a student of life. Over the years I've learned how to fix a car, butcher a rabbit, knit, make soap, swing a hammer and, obviously, publish a book. But being a student of life doesn't translate into dollars the way a formal education can, so I've gone back to college to finish that 20-years-unfinished degree. Along with classes I juggle the same things many of us do--family, job and finding a creative outlet. Working in a library where other people's dreams sit on every shelf renews my inspiration.
