About Cherime MacFarlane

Meet Award-Winning, Best-Selling Author Cherime MacFarlane. A prolific multi-genre author, she has a broad range of interests that reflect her been there-done that life. Romance, Historical Fiction, Fantasy, Paranormal, all sorts of characters and plots evolve from a vivid imagination.
I came to Alaska kicking and screaming in 1976, and I never want to leave. I cut firewood on shares for money to get through the winter. I swore I would not live above the Alaska Range because it was too cold there and wound up in the Copper River Basin where it got just a cold as Fairbanks.
My second husband, a Scot from Glasgow, was the love of my life. When I write Scots dialect, I experienced hearing it from my in-laws. Each time my husband got on the phone to Scotland after five seconds, I could hardly understand a word. I was my second husband's chief mechanic's helper and roadie.
I live in a cabin which is slowly being surrounded by the city and wish I were further out. My two cats and Husky-Collie mix dog are happy in our little slice of heaven called Alaska. In the silence of winter dreams of people and places provide a rich pool of ideas to explore.
As a reporter for the Copper Valley Views, Cherime MacFarlane received a letter of commendation from the Copper River Native Association for fair and balanced reporting.
Cherime won the Hardest Working Author Award from Author Classified.

This is a unique romance story about Camille and Dmitri who are forced to marry aboard the ship called the Laurie after only a brief introduction due to unfortunate circumstances.

The story is set in the Alaskan Frontier on a small island owned by Dmitri, telling the tale of their trials and tribulations as they begin to learn about eachother and trust one another. It is a rocky road, let me tell you! Dmitri is quite a bit older then Camille and to him, she seems but a child, though she is well of age. To Camille, Dmitri seems a bit frightening at times, but at other times he seems very caring.

Adding interest to the plot the author weaves in the culture of the local Native American tribe and provides a truthful view of what life was like for pioneers at that time. I especially loved the detailed description of how to build a log building.

There are plenty of emotional upheavals to keep the plot interesting. Dmitri’s daughter from a previous marriage is less then thrilled with the aspect of a new stepmother. Another woman is trying to sink her evil claws into Dmitri despite his being married. But most engaging of all is the attempted murders of Camille, who for all the world, is an innocent girl just trying to make her way in the beginnings of her new marriage.

This is definitely not a cookie-cutter romance and I think you will enjoy this story.

This book is simply a work of magic. It captures adventure, romance, mystery, and a piece of history all in one. The characters personalities and settings are very detailed. One of the best books I have read in a very long time. A must read for sure!
