I would have never thought that a story could be light and easy while touching on human trafficking.

Storm did it quite nicely.

Max works for Vasyl. Vasyl is basically the local mobster king pin. She knows he's bad news, but he's treated her just fine, so she figures he can't be all bad. Until she gets into a bit of a mess, and Vasyl decides to traffick her.

Tony is a business man, and made an ally in Vasyl by saving his life. To show his thanks, Vasyl gives Tony a gift…Max. Tony doesn't want a sex slave, doesn't want responsibility for her, but knows it would be bad to refuse the "gift". So, when Max proposes an alternate plan to stay with him, no sex involved, Tony agrees.

Max is pretty awesome. She's very much a "go-with-the-flow" type of girl. She's from England, but is trying to get her career off the ground in Kiev. She's caring, funny, talented, sweet, and strong. Also, she's Goth. I loved her immediately.

Tony is kind of a slut. Well, more than "kind of". He has a standing order for a call girl on Monday, and he is dead-set on never getting attached. He's successful, smart, hard-headed, and sexy. He treats Max so wonderfully, I ended up really loving him, too.

My favorite part was the song Max wrote, called "Hooker Monday."

What I didn't like:

At the end, I felt like Max and Tony did really have something, but the way they finished seemed a bit forced.

That being the only thing I have to complain about, I think it was an excellent read.

If you're looking for a quick, funny, light, read - you should pick this up. The sex is hot, the banter is fabulous, and the whole book should have you smiling!

The Gift ~ An Erotic Romance in Kiev tell the story of Tony and Max (real name Blossom Peaches Sunshine) as these two British citizens move through Kiev's social life. Both are not interested in commitment but through a strange set of circumstances Max (purple hair and all) is gifted to Tony by one of the local controlling businessmen. Tony is a lawyer working for a British firm making contracts to do business with local companies for export to Great Britain. Max is a composer/musician that is very talented and building her career and looking for her big break. This most unlikely couple are thrown together in this interesting story set in a Russian city.

Most of the story develops the two man characters as they learn to live together and become closer until he takes her to bed for very descriptive steamy bedroom scenes. Tony knows his way around a woman's body and takes Max from virgin to heavenly heights of ecstasy.

Tony learns to accept her and lets her move in with him as his housekeeper. She turns out to be the best thing that could happen to him while he was living in a foreign city with no comforts of home. The story is told from his point of view, so it isn't until the end that the twists start and Max reveals how she feels and so much more.
