This is a FANTASTIC story!!!

I was introduced to this author via a blog post and I noticed this particular story. I have moderate vision loss myself, so I'm drawn to romances that include this particular affliction. Plus, it's about pirates! I mean, who doesn't love a hot pirate.

The characters pulled me in and really kept my attention. Kitty was definitely a strong heroine, but she showed it in her actions. I wasn't beaten over the head with the fact that she's a strong, independent person like I am in so many other romances. What I also liked about her is that she knew her limitations and wasn't stubborn about asking for help. Because, really, isn't that in itself a true measure of strength? But don't get me wrong, she was no shrinking violet. I really enjoyed reading her!

And Rafe was...wow! He had a self-deprecating streak about him, but it was just enough to really put me in his corner. Also, the way he cared for Kitty was just so endearing. And then when that thing happened later on in the big boat battle...never saw that coming! (No spoilers here!)

The emotions were so well done, especially between Kitty and Rafe. I was thrown a twist towards the end, and actually wondered if this was going to be a happy ending or not (I've had the misfortune of reading books like that, too. Not by this author, but some think historical romances need to be, well, too realistic and not end happy). I couldn't see a way these two were going to end up together. But, boy, was I pleasantly surprised!

The only extremely minor thing about the (free) copy I got from Smashwords is the number of typos (small things, nothing major), but that in no way would stop me from reading more books by Sara!

I absolutely LOVED this pirate tale and am so happy I found Sara Reinke!

Must we resort to blasphemy too?!

Out of all the Historical Romance novels I've read, this is definitely one of my favorites. It has everything you'd want in a novel and enough love and romance along with wit and sarcasm to make you feel connected with all the characters. Your heart races as the mystery and suspense builds and as it reaches the end you feel thankful for the journey.

Thank you for sharing, Author.
