The Mortal Creeps
Enter the world of Zane Eldridge. He is the mortal who creeps across the city. Roaming from the Mall of the Damned to the Mall of the Future, seeking, seeking...what?
He will find a Teenage Amazon. The world will change.
When a man's brain fabricates the meaning of his own life, can he find any truth that isn't his own? Or does every decision change the truth until it has no meaning? More
The strange world of Zane Eldridge: crazy comic book mythology, beer, swearing, self-aware self-righteousness, heavy metal, moral philosophizing and slightly warped evolutionary psychology. His world is peopled by crafty suburbanites, sadists, masochists, smarmy pseudo-intellectuals, semi-celebrities; and most of all, his sexy roommate Tiff Stokely, and his religious fanatic cousin Julie Kreel, the self-declared Popette of the First Church of Jesus Christ, Mutant Hero.
The Mortal Creeps is at once an examination of human self-righteous and of the first person narrative form itself. It can be described as a kinder, gentler A Clockwork Orange meets a less kind, more violent Catcher in the Rye. It takes the device of first person narration to task on its presumptuousness, with absurd, hilarious, and thought-provoking results; while providing a terse, kaleidoscopic view of modern city life and creating a bold, striking and original set of characters.
Read it and creep.
