Dionne Lee Nelson is a fantasy and fiction writer. Her The Mafia Princess Diaries and The Mafia Princess Diaries: The Takeover series, was the first of her urban criminal fiction work. But with the new release of her first fantasy novel, Grandelyn, she is now able to show her freedom and versatility as a writer.
Dionne grew up indulging in anything showing creativity or entertainment. She began singing in church at the age of 5, began drawing and painting people portraits at 9, acting in school and church plays at 10, but her passion was always writing. Dionne wrote her first story at the age of 7, called Shannon the Killer. That’s when she realized that she wanted to be a horror writer like her favorite authors Stephen King and R.L Stine. But when she started writing short stories based on urban street life, her classmates began to take interest in her work and encouraged her to become a professional author. Getting a thrill from having others read her work; Dionne realized her dream and continued to hone her craft spending years writing short stories. Finally 2010 saw the debut of her first book series The Mafia Princess Diaries.
Dionne is still continuing to indulge in everything using creativity and entertainment. She takes acting and modeling classes and has had bit parts in the movies Warrior and Silence the Voices. She is also in the process of designing clothing for women and children. She still occasionally draws portraits and web design. Dionne is also currently training in boxing and kickboxing.
Dionne lives in Pittsburgh, Pa with her fiancée, daughter, and Shih Tzu puppy, Oscar. She is presently working on the sequel to Grandelyn as well as the final book to The Mafia Princess Diaries series.
