About K. L. Richardson

K. L. Richardson was born in Philadelphia, PA to a single teen mother. Her mother graduated high school top of her class, attended college and joined the US Army to provide K. L. a better life. Becoming an Army brat at the age of seven, K. L. attended thirteen different schools before graduating from Harlem High School, in Harlem, Ga. K. L. always felt awkward and used creative writing to deal with the many difficulties she faced in her childhood, including being bullied.

She attended Virginia State University briefly, before moving to Germany with her mother shortly after the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and secured a job with AAFES--Army Air Force Exchange Service.

In 2002, K.L.'s mother was notified that her unit would be amongst the first to deploy to Iraq. K. L.'s job was also looking for people to volunteer to go downrange to support the troops. K. L. volunteered, and thus began her love for military contracting. She worked in Kuwait for a year, going back and forth between Iraq and Kuwait. She then secured a contracting position with KBR Inc. in Iraq where she worked for over two years from 2004-2006 and again from 2008-2009.

Now attending Drexel University, majoring in Communication, K. L. is a huge fan of classic, historical, science, fantasy and action fiction books and films, citing George R. R. Martin, Quentin Tarantino, Jane Austen, Charles Brackden Brown and Edgar Allen Poe amongst her influences and inspiration.
