Set in late 20th century NYC, Rome and Santa Fe, before email, social networks and cell phones, this full-length novel traces the life of an artist, who finds himself unable to resist any attraction. Eventually he is torn between two powerful and desirable women, one who he loves and one who he needs. All the while he is plagued by a dream of his death. Eventually he turns to a self styled shaman for interpretation of and protection from the dream. The story is loosely based on the myth of the contest for Adonis between Aphrodite and Persephone. It mixes poetry, Greek mythology and Native American mysticism to tell a story of unrelenting love, desire and jealousy against an art world background.
