About Justin Cawthorne

As a budding writer for far too long I'm hoping [insert current year] will be the year that I finally beat [insert current excuse] and get writing again.
I've dabbled in screenplays, have a taste for the irreverent (as well as the irrelevant) but horror seems to be my chief muse. Still, let's see what else wants to come out.
As long as it's not poetry - I'm really rubbish at poetry.

(p.s. I really appreciate reviews - I love to know what you think of my stories, even if you didn't like them...)

I had a similar impression to an earlier reviewer. I thought the story was told very well and drew you in. It also had a dark element that made it a little disturbing. As things unfolded at the end, however, I was left wanting a little more oomph. The author did actually have some reveals that changed things up a bit, but I was more interested in what the secrets are, and that part was not as satisfying.

This is one of those concept stories that really makes you think. It really isn't much of a stretch from some of the horror stories surrounding China's One Child Policy. The story draws you on due to its premise and some suspenseful moments, but it sputters out at the end.
