About Scott J. Callaway

Scott J. Callaway was born and raised in the small Maritime fishing community of Escuminac, New Brunswick. As a child, his most despicable moment was when he left his sister for dead in a hole in the snow while trying to escape the evil clutches of a talking doll. Because seriously… That thing was scary! It was that moment when he realized he could never be a hero, and would have to settle with writing about them instead. Currently, he and his wonderful wife and beautiful daughter live by the sea with a cat who loves to sing for her breakfast whether they like it or not. He draws energy from peace and quiet and values the stillness of a room while enjoying a good book. His dream is to someday be able to share all the things he makes up in his head with the world.

Loved this book!

Charlie is a very normal person, who doesn't even realize how tired she is of her mudane existance until she makes a call during her telemarketing job. When she finds love, it is complicated but so worthwhile. Definitely read this, it's refreshing and different, worth your time!

Another page turner from the up and coming author Scott J. Callaway. I found the main character 'Charlie' very relatable and real. Her everyday life is mundane but alike so many of who simply live life; work, eat, sleep, and very little time or desire for real interaction. Charlie feels her online friends are more than enough to fulfil her 'social life.' Then like any good book, magic intervenes, or rather someone of magical means. He opens her eyes to real life, or more that he shows her how she should live, love and truly enjoy her existence. There are some really great plots turns, ups, downs and I shall not spoil the ending but it had me speed reading to find out what would happen. Overall I think this novella is a great piece of writing. Go ahead and dive into her world it might make you want to make sure you aren't settling for 'virtual sunshine.'
