David Palmer, chairman of the board, president, and founder of the non-profit company, One Day at a Time, in 2004, began his career in 1956 with Young & Rubicam Advertising in New York City. He also worked for Burson-Marsteller and for Earl Newsom & Company in New York. His last agency job was with CJRW in Little Rock,
His first love was newspapers. He worked for a couple, including the Arkansas Gazette and the Wall Street Journal, and bought and sold some during his career.
David has been active in recovery circles for more than thirty years. He has been a member of the Wolfe Street Foundation, which provides 12-Step meeting rooms for those
in recovery, since 1985 and served as president in 1990 and 1991.
David is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Hamilton College in Clinton, New York,
and the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in Boston. Following graduation, he served three years in the U.S. Navy. David and his wife, Joan, have three sons and seven grandchildren.
