Ahhh - to relive the joy and pain of your first true love. I cried and laughed with the author as she grows up and experiences the pain of an unjust world and the unimaginable loss of a child - she triumphs through it all and forges through with dignity and happiness.

Wow... Really. Wow. This novel starts out with a storybook romance, but before it ends you've lived through the Congo rebellion and a horrific situation where the protagonist is dominated by an abusive husband and then... well, I don't want to spoil it but it's a heck of a ride.
