Keeping It Light

Rated 4.00/5 based on 1 reviews
Steve Sutherland is a 1950s-era baseball player living in the modern age. His childhood dreams are of Cooperstown ceremonies, beauty queens, and soaring with Harmon Killebrew. His adult reality is a world of gay bartending, cohabitation, aging parents, alcoholic role models, nagging injuries, and snakebite. When his luck finally changes, he finds himself in an epic chase. So he writes about it.

Keeping It Light begins slowly. A lot of characters are introduced and it takes some time to figure out the cast. Although there is no plot, the book is a portrait of a life that many of us can relate to—even if we are not affiliated with minor league baseball. I particularly liked the conclusion: Why you can’t prove or disprove the existence of God, but feeling that He is just doing his job like everyone else. I think this would make an excellent screenplay. I’m looking forward to seeing it on the big(or small)screen.
