More Than a Handfull

A father's confusing Christmas improves in less than an hour. Compassion is powerful, especially when shown to a haunting stranger.

About Eric Thuesen

I'm originally from California, south to north. I taught ESL for 8 years in Colombia, South America and then settled in Houston, TX. Settled isn't quite right; Houston is where I've chosen to ride out life's roller coaster.

Completing my novel is my bucket list. Short stories help whenever the big story isn't cooperating. My novel is set in a Colombian jungle full of cartels, guerillas and missionaries. I may need to pack up my laptop and jeans and head for destinations unknown for exotic inspiration.

Really touching. I loved how you showed his crabbiness through inner dialog and viewpoint without slapping the reader in the face with it. Touching too.

Very descriptive, I usually have somewhat of a hard time imagining the scenes as the author tells the story... but it was very easy to put myself there, seeing everything vividly as the author intended. I really liked how it takes two very different people, two different realities, but merges them.

Because this book is very short, I was surprised to find tears rolling down my cheeks as I reached the final sentence.
