The St. Louis Writers Guild presents The Scribe: Literary publication for writers, by writers More
For more than a decade, The Scribe has been the mainstay for communicating with members of the St. Louis Writers Guild. It began as a way to showcase the organization and share insights into the publishing world. Back issues give a wonderful record of the Guild. This edition focuses on GETTING PUBLISHED, with a special guest article by Jane Friedman on the "5 Industry Trends Requiring Every Writer's Attention." SLWG members Gerry Mandel, Catherine Rankovic and Star Jesus VanAllen provide informative articles about the publishing process. Highlights include a new short story by Gerry Mandel, "Journal of a Long-distance Pedaller," and poems "caveat" and "for my daughter" by Treasure Shields Redmond. Rounding out the issue are reports on Guild events during the past quarter featuring essay writing with Catherine Rankovic; new authors Peter Green, Janet Bettag and Robin Tidwell; tax tips from Faye Adams; and a night with Missouri's Poets Laureate: Walter Bargen, David Clewell and William Trowbridge. A special tribute honors SLWG member Will Bereswill.
