About Meryl S. Fortney

First off, who am I?

I am a transgender woman--Meryl S. Fortney (formerly known as Ryan S. Fortney)

Behind all of this, I started writing around the age of 21. I've always had this crazy imagination since I was a kid. When I got to that point of my life, I decided it was time to put it to some use. Whether it's good or bad use, is totally up to you, my readers.

As for what I'm working on - The Pax Series - I'll be finished with it in maybe five years or so. The idea is the apocalypse, taken about ten steps further than I've ever seen it taken in other forms of media. And then of course I already have handfuls of ideas for other stories.

PaxCorpus is my baby. My child. With it, I intend on crafting, hopefully, one of the largest fictional universes ever imagined. What you see and what you read of PaxCorpus and Escape Velocity is only the beginning. The tip of the iceberg.

Aside from that, I'd just like to say that it was a strange feeling, waking up one day no longer a "budding writer" with a dream, but an author with multiple dreams. Things kind of catches up with you if you never stop and turn around for a bit.

Review by: Karley Morgan on April 20, 2013 :
I already said this over at askdavid, but I wanted to make sure this author gets what I think she deserves.

I didn't expect a lot going into this story. I thought it would just be some zombie shoot em' up and then I'd forget all about it.

But I was wrong.

By the time I hit the third or fourth chapter I was hooked. It grabbed me. By chapter 17 I was in tears! This story pulls every punch. No holds barred. Whatever, I LOVE it!
