I was very pleased with everything about this book! From the very first page all the way through I was hooked. I had a hard time putting it down once I started reading it! I highly recommend others read it. A great mix of reality, suspense, unexpected twists and even some love thrown in. Easy to read & following the plot was also easy, but not too easy as to make it boring. I am the type that likes to try to figure out all the twists before they happen and if it is too easy I lose interest. I did not figure out all of the twists in advanced, which is a huge plus for me in a book. Chris does a great job of connecting everything and keeping the story moving along. He uses just the right mix of creativity, realism and details for your imagination to capture the scenes and the characters without getting tiresome and wordy. I never once lost interest and found myself putting things off around the house and going to bed late because I wanted to just keep reading. Some people may think the curse words in it are not for them or excessive, but in reality I think Chris captured the characters, the way they talk and the way they live perfectly. It helps that this was my kind of story. I have read and watched a lot of Mafia/wise guy style stuff over the years and have always had an interest in the real lives and lifestyles of them. Chris's book fits right in there with the ones that while you are reading it and when you are done, you think, yeah, that's the way I always imagined the gangster/Mafia/wise guy life being! Especially with the focus being on the mid to lower level guys, the wannabe's, the guys trying to move up in the organization, their day to day lives, friends, connections and associations and how the guys on top think and operate differently. Just enough characters and interactions to keep you interested without getting lost or confused. Love to see it turned into a movie!
