About Jamie Magee

Jamie Magee has always believed that each of us have a defining gift that sets us apart from the rest of the world, she has always envied those who have known from their first breath what their gift was. Not knowing hers, she began a career in the fast paced world of business. Raising a young family, and competing to rise higher in that field would drive some to the point of insanity, but she always found a moment of escape in a passing daydream. Her imagination would take her to places she’d never been, introduce her to people she’s never known. Insight, her debuting novel, is a result of that powerful imagination. Today, she is grateful that not knowing what defined her, led her on a path of discovery that would always be a part of her.

Reviews of Insight: Web of Hearts and Souls #1 (Insight series 1) by Jamie Magee

This is supposed to be a book for Young Adults but I think it is suitable for anyone wishing to read a mystery / love story with a hint of paranormal in the form of "insights" or talents or gifts, whatever you want to call them.

This book starts on earth and will take you to different dimensions via 'strings', invisible (to most) passages of energy.

I won't go into the plot as it is better to just read the synopsis and go from there but it has an overall quite simple story that is overlaid with complications and events that all in all make this a fantastic read.

And, yes, I am a hopeless romantic, so the idea of having your other half out there who will complete you is almost certainly going to go down well with me and this book does it well!!

While I did enjoy the book, I just felt like there were a lot of confusing plot concepts. However, I enjoyed the dynamic between Willow, Landen, and Drake. The characters were so well written that it was easy to get into the story. I found it intriguing how Willow was drawn to Drake, hence making the love triangle complete. I loved the romance between Willow and Landen. It was sweet and made me green with envy. Landen is certainly worthy to be added to anyone's book boyfriend list.

It was a little redundant with the picking up and dropping off of Willow's friends to the Earthly realm. The plot could have been more subtle. I felt like there were a lot of moments that Willow was placed in a position of fainting from being overwhelmed. The overdramatic elements, however, kept the story moving and were enjoyable as I was reading.

This book can be information overload. There are so many concepts that are brought together it feels like a lot when you are reading it. Sometimes simpler is better in terms of the journey. This book was loaded with themes and concepts and kept going when it should have ended. There was enough in this book to make two novels, but overall, it is a book worth reading.

I should add that there was no erotica in this book which was a plus. It is a true YA novel and all romance is fitting for the age level.

OKay I just finished Insight by: Jamie Magee ... Not giving any spoilers. I feel it is well written just takes a while to get to the good parts. I gave it a 3 star rating but am interested enough in reading the second book in the series. It is a YA book and was actually pretty glade at the rating I would give a pg13 :) Which sounds funny but I have daughters and I read the YA books A.) Because I love them and B.) To make sure they are not to graphic. ~ that is my thoughts on this book right now.
