About J.M. Stone

J.M. Stone is a legal assistant by day, and a writer by night. She started writing at a young age, mostly poetry and song lyrics, some of which were published. She currently lives in Ohio where she's lived for most of her life, and enjoys spending time with her other-half, their mouthy daughter, two spoiled and crazy dogs, and the rest of her abnormal family. (Don't worry, abnormal is good!) In her spare time, she loves to read, write, sing, and make people laugh, which usually happens at her own expense! Skin Deep is her first novel, and is the first in the Skin Deep series.

She loves to hear from her readers, so drop her line at

Amazing book by an amazing friend. Some might say that it's a biased review but as you can see from the two reviews below it is not.

I was trying to put this book down but just was not able to I had to finish it before I returned to my studies for my finals. That's how good this is!

Don't just take my word for it, buy it today!

I am not a fan of first person pov but this book made it worth it. Funny, family love/tolerance and just the perfect little hints for the next book.

Skin Deep is the debut novel of J.M. Stone, and I think I’m in love! Emma is a very strong but sweet character. She’s rather clumsy, but she’s hilarious, as is almost every member of her crazy family. I would know. And the sparks fly between her and Luke, who by the way is HOT!, and the sex is squirm-in-your-chair-amazing! The story is written in a way that layers and builds throughout, completely connecting the reader to all the characters. I didn't want to put it down. There is also so much humor interspersed throughout the story that I was literally laughing until I cried at parts! Even my husband laughed when I read them to him, which doesn’t happen often! And I won’t mention the breath-holding I did from the suspense…Very well written, especially for a debut novel, and I would definitely recommend it! Mark your TBR lists with this one for sure! I already can’t wait for the next in the series! Lets hope the author doesn't leave us waiting long, I am ready for more of this group and Callend has to be one of the best YOUNGER brothers ever lmao.
