About Melissa Banczak

I'm currently freezing my ass off in Wisconsin. (Even if you read this come summer, know that I'm still cold)

I've written and/or produced: docs, shorts, one feature and a critically acclaimed webseries that led to a couple of pilot assignments that led to a few dozen rum punches that led to a realization that I get the hell away from filmmaking and turn to prose.

My first novel is getting whipped into shape by an editor who puts up with my inability to use correct punctuation.

When I'm not at my keyboard, I'm trying to figure out how to relocate back to Key West without going broke.

I had the chance to watch the film first and then read the screenplay....amazing....I recommend both as you enjoy this project. Very writing....and some damn good acting!

I was swept away by the depth of characters in this screenplay! Everyone is so believable—they all have their own lives, and this story just happens to focus on shared experiences between them. I think I’m in love with Zelda—what a fun and quirky character! Twists, turns, people not doing what you expect of them… It’s a quirky mystery with a handful of great characters and a pleasant read. I can’t wait to see the film!

Very Cool. Cool names. Cool Plot. This is how real people talk....and how a real reader stays interested. Stylized without being pretentious...surprises around the corners.....Ms. Banczak had written a script as cool as it's title. Evocative, suspenseful....and yes, heartfelt.....this is a journey that is real with elements of the unreal. And the two together make for a fantastic script....well done:)
