This was a great book! Very practical and informative for someone aspiring to get their pilot certificate. It gathers a wide variety of information on the topic into a convenient and digestible form. I found it very useful overall, and learned some good tips and information on pursuing my sport pilot certificate.

GREAT BOOK! The title is a little misleading. It should have been "Aviation for Dummies..." This short read is much more than a dollars and cents book. It pulls together so much useful information that could only be gathered by joining flying clubs and spending countless hous on the internet. Tim boils years of experience down into 85 pages of easy to read text that can be used as a reference for any pilot or future pilots. There are a few pictures but as good as Tim is at writing, he is even a better photographer. I highly recommend it to anyone who has ever dreamed to fly or is just getting started in the process.

I found this book to be incredibly informative, current and helpful. Most of the HOW TO BECOME A PILOT books, at the library, are far too outdated to be of any use at all. I found this book loaded with up to date information. Becoming a pilot in the post 9/11 era can be a confusing task for anyone. I found this book to be an invaluable guide to help me make sound decisions, from what kind of pilot to be, to choosing the right plane. Clearly written by someone who has been there and done it, I highly recommend this book. Don't consider learning to fly without first reading this book. It is sure to save you time and money.
