George Silverman spent nearly 30 years in the health care industry and held key positions including Therapeutic Chef, Therapeutic Chef Trainer, Certified Dietary Manager, Chef Manager, Food Services Operations Manager, and, ultimately, Director of Food Service. He also served a term as an elected officer in the American Culinary Federation. He developed an intense interest in the nutritional needs of people with Alzheimer’s disease. He formulated recipes and diet plans for their lifestyle and authored two extensive texts: “Seven Week Diet Plan for Alzheimer’s Patients” and “Recipes for Alzheimer’s Patients.” Now retired, he’s passed his knowledge and techniques on to certified, registered dietitians, therapeutic chefs, and directors of food service in many health care facilities and Alzheimer’s centers.
