Goddess Legacy is the first book in the Goddess series, and introduces us to Legacy, a young girl celebrating her 17th birthday. Her best friend Calli is there, along with long-term crush Adin who has never noticed her. Legacy receives some interesting news from her guardian which throws her world into a spin. Adin also asks her on a date so she is also ecstatic about that. There is more to turning 17 than Legacy had ever realised.
Now, I wanted to love this story as it was all about Greek mythology. However, somehow, it just didn't quite do it for me. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the majority of the story. There IS a love triangle in here, River-Legacy-Adin, but there is also a story involved so it isn't straight-forward.
This story was enjoyable, but it didn't grab me. I liked the story, but I wasn't invested in it. Told in both first and third POVs, this was well-written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt my reading flow.

Where to even begin? I love reading anything that has Mythology, characters with special abilities and star-crossed lovers. The 1st book in the Goddess series, Goddess Legacy, has all that and more.
I was really surprised how this book turned out. Goddess Legacy is the 1st book of 7 in the Goddess series. The main focus of book #1 is laying the foundation of the story and setting things up for the rest of the series. I have to admit, the book starts out really slow. When I started the book I was wondering “what I have gotten myself into? Where is the author going with this?” But after I got past the first chapter things really started to pick up and just kept my attention. I read the entire book in a few hours because I just had to know what was going to happen next!
The book is about a girl named Legacy Kore whose entire world changes on her seventeenth birthday. Up until this moment Legacy has been living a normal teenage life or so she thinks. On the night of Legacy’s 17th birthday her guardian Lissa tells her that her parents didn’t die in a car crash when she was a baby. Whoa! I had to take a moment when I read that. Could you imagine if your entire life you thought your parents were dead and then you find out they’re alive? Not only does Lissa tell her that her parents are alive, but that she descends from Gods and Goddesses. Up until this point Legacy has spent her life shopping with her best friend Calli and crushing on a seriously delicious looking guy named Adin. Now she finds out that over the next year her Goddess abilities are going to start developing and she has a year to get herself ready before she becomes a full Goddess.
The rest of the book focuses on her trying to figure out which Goddess she descends from and how she’s going to handle all these changes. The great news is that in the mists of all this chaos, her crush Adin finally asks her out. While their relationship starts to develop she gets introduced to a new guy named Rivers and there is something really mysterious about him and his family. While Legacy is trying to juggle a budding relationship, a summer job and trying to figure out all this Goddess stuff she’s starting to have these really intense dreams. These dreams are more like nightmares, but they are somehow related to become a Goddess and she’s got to figure out how.
Goddess Legacy is a fast read with interesting characters you instantly care about. I cannot wait to see where the series goes from here. If you liked The Lightening Thief you will really love Goddess Legacy. The story of a teenage girl who is becoming a Goddess while dealing with High School, new powers, and surrounded by hot guys it’s a total must read.
